The object of rallying is to reach certain points at specific times to become the overall winner. They hold rallies on a wide variety of roads, from smooth paved asphalt, to washed out desert trails. This requires a rugged chassis, and an equally tough driver and navigator.

The SS-100s reliability, endurance, and maneuverability made them ideal for rallying throughout Europe.
