June 22 | Car Detective Photo Quiz

This is your chance to show off your automotive skills and knowledge in our first-ever “Car Detective” photo quiz series. The rules are easy. The first person to successfully answer this series of questions get bragging rights to be called our official “Car Detective of the Week” and earns themselves four free tickets to the museum! A new Photo Quiz will be announced each Wednesday at 12:30 on our website and social media channels.

1. Name the motor car. – De Dion-Bouton tricycle

2. What years was it in production? – 1897–1905

3. Name the designer. – Jules-Albert de Dion

4. What kind of engine is powering it, and why is it historically important? – 4-stroke that achieved 1500rpm by replacing glow plug ignition with a high-voltage ignition system. This became the precursor to all motorcycle engines.
