This Workshop is full. We will let you know when we plan to hold another.
Sunday, March 2nd, 10 am – 4 pm
Cars and photography have been inseparable since the first automobile was built. At the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum in Philadelphia, home to one of the finest collections of racing sports cars in the world, we encourage visitors to take photos of the collection. Frequently, we are asked for advice on how best to photograph cars. This has led to our desire to host a workshop at the Museum on automotive photography.
On Sunday, March 2nd we will have a full day workshop on all aspects of automotive photography – still and motion, indoors and out. Leading the presentations will be three outstanding practitioners: Michael Furman, Dom Miliano and Andrew Taylor.
Michael Furman needs no introduction. He is one of the best studio automotive photographers in the world and his work graces galleries, publications and auction catalogs. He is also the creative force behind Coachbuilt Press, the publisher of both Simeone Museum books: The Spirit of Competition and The Preservation of Historically Important Automobiles.
Dom Miliano is a noted automotive writer, editor and photographer whose work has appeared in literally hundreds of books and magazines. Dom Miliano taught photography for seven years. His photographs have been published by AutoWeek, Cavallino, Excellence, Forza, Corvette and Bimmer Magazine, Porsche Panorama and in several automotive books.
Andrew Taylor is the official photographer at the Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum. You have undoubtedly seen him on a tall ladder at Demo Days, getting that special shot. Photography isn’t Andrew’s only passion – he also is an avid automobile collector (a Packard and a new Aston-Martin grace his garage), and an accomplished aviator.
Webb Cam, Philadelphia’s leading professional camera shop, will have representatives on hand to answer technical questions throughout the day. In addition, they will have a range of lenses and other equipment for participants to use during the day.
Webb Cam has arranged with Sigma to have a number of super wide, macro and telephoto lenses in both Nikon and Canon mounts for participants to use.
They will also have a number of Black Rapid straps to use. We will also have a raffle drawing from the participants to win a new Black Rapid strap.
