Automotive Photography Workshop II:
Photo Manipulation and Printing
Sunday, April 27th, 10 am – 4 pm
Our first Automotive Photography Workshop was so successful, we’re offering a second course, this time in Photo Manipulation and Printing. This class will also be a full-day Workshop and will cover photo software (Photoshop, Lightbox, etc.) in the morning, and in the afternoon, the process for achieving optimal quality when printing. Teaching the classes will be David Phillips, of Michael Furman Studios (photo software), and Andrew Taylor, official photographer of the Simeone Museum (printing). Cost will be $75 per person including lunch, and will be limited to the first 50 persons to register.

David Phillips will discus the workflow of taking a digital capture and editing it to make a final, retouched image that is optimized for an offset press. He’ll talk about managing color in Photoshop, high-end image compositing and retouching, and the importance of proper masking. He’ll show real-world examples throughout.
12:30 – 1:30
Sandwiches, wraps, chips, water and sodas
1:30 – 3:30
Andrew Taylor will cover the intricacies of taking digital files and achieving optimum output from a variety of printing mediums. He’ll discuss the importance of matching color profiles and show a variety of printing media that are available.
What you should bring
This Workshop will be centered around what happens after the picture is taken, so there isn’t a need to bring camera equipment. However, there will be time available for shooting inside the Museum. You are welcome to bring your laptop to work along with our presenters.
