In 1976, America turned 200.
Across the country, the cars parked in driveways, cruising through towns, and lined up on showroom floors told their own story about the nation. They reflected where America had been, what it valued, and what many people imagined the future might look like.
This August, the Simeone Museum is bringing that story into focus.
American Dream is a new guest exhibition opening Saturday, August 8 and running through Sunday, August 23, 2026. The exhibition will feature classic American cars, trucks, hot rods, and muscle cars built through 1976.
We are now seeking owners who would like to submit their vehicles for consideration. This is a display-only exhibition, built around great American vehicles and the stories they carry.
Guests will see a broad look at American automotive culture at the edge of the Bicentennial, from performance and design to personal expression and everyday life. Together, these vehicles help show how the automobile became one of the clearest symbols of the American dream.
Submissions are open now through Tuesday, July 28, 2026. Space is limited, and vehicles will be accepted on a case-by-case basis.
Load-in for accepted vehicles takes place Monday, August 3, 2026.
