This library was the impetus for the amazing and world-renowned museum we have today.
The origin of the library is quite simple. A young Fred Simeone approached the curator of the Automotive Collection at the Free Library of Philadelphia, asking if there was any way he could help. The curator tasked the inquisitive 10-year-old with getting two copies of every piece of sales literature: one for the Free Library of Philadelphia and one for Fred to keep. Fred did keep one, and over the course of his lifetime, Dr. Simeone amassed the largest collection of factory-produced automotive literature in the world.
